PRS provides the following services:

Intact and Damage Stability Assessment: Evaluating the vessel’s stability characteristics in both intact and damaged conditions.

Hull, Machinery, and Electrical System Surveys:

  • Hull Surveys: Thorough inspections of the ship’s hull structure, including plating, framing, and underwater components, to ensure integrity and detect any signs of damage or corrosion.
  • Machinery Surveys: Detailed examination of the vessel’s propulsion and its auxiliary machinery to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with maintenance standards.
  • Electrical Surveys: Assessment of the vessel’s electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and safety systems, to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.


Cargo Gear Surveys
: Inspection and testing of all cargo handling equipment, such as cranes, derricks, and winches, to ensure they are safe, efficient, and compliant with international load handling regulations. This includes checking for wear and tear, certification of lifting capacities, and operational safety features.

APPROVAL OF SHIP PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS/ DRAWINGS AND BOOKLETS

1. As integral part of the classification services, the MACS shall undertake a detailed technical review and approval of the ship plans and specifications/ drawings to ensure that the design covering. but not limited to the following, meets requirements prescribed under the approved class rules, considering the notation intended to the vessel:

  • Hull covering ship structures including ship structural, fire protection, stability, and watertight integrity;
  • Lifting equipment and cargo gears;
  • Piping system and arrangements;
  • Machinery, equipment and related systems; and
  • Electrical and control systems.

     

2. The plans approval for vessel construction and in service ships shall cover, but not limited to, the following:

Plan approval required for the construction of a vessel;

Existing ships coming to class; and

iii. Ships for conversion, alteration, and modification.
