Empowering Maritime Safety and Environmental Protection

We are the first-ever Filipino Classification Society, established and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 26, 1989. PRS is a non-governmental, non-stock, non-profit independent technical organization dedicated to enhancing and promoting the safety of life and property at sea, as well as the protection of the marine environment.

Our Commitment to Excellence

At PRS, we provide comprehensive services and support to shipowners, maritime industry practitioners, and government authorities. With our expertise and commitment to excellence, we ensure that vessels and marine-related structures adhere to the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Trusted Classification Society

As a recognized and accredited classification society, we play a vital role in ensuring the safety and integrity of vessels and marine structures. Our Class Rules, developed and maintained by our expert team, guide the design, construction, and survey processes, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Uncompromising Safety

Safety is our top priority. We conduct rigorous inspections, surveys, and tests throughout the lifecycle of a vessel to ensure its structural and mechanical fitness. By adhering to strict safety standards, we contribute to the prevention of accidents, protecting lives, and safeguarding the marine environment.

Expert Guidance and Support

Our team of experienced professionals offers expert guidance and support to shipowners, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. We provide plan and drawing approvals, assist with compliance issues, and offer maritime training events to enhance industry knowledge and skills.

Environmental Stewardship

We recognize the importance of protecting the marine environment. Through our commitment to environmental management, we work towards minimizing the ecological impact of maritime operations. PRS is on its way to achieving certification for ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System, further solidifying our dedication to sustainable practices.

Government Authorization

PRS is duly accredited by the Philippine government through the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). We also perform maritime statutory services on behalf of the Philippine government and foreign flag states, ensuring compliance with international conventions.
